Prevent Child Abuse America

The mission of Prevent Child Abuse America is to prevent the abuse and neglect of our nation's children.

Each chapter is working with their state Prevent Child Abuse office or a child advocacy center in their community to promote safe and healthy families.

2015-2016 National Philanthropy

The chapters of Delta Beta Sigma raised $74,141.19 for the Wounded Warrior Project during the 2015-2016 year.

Each year Delta Beta Sigma chooses one philanthropic organization for all chapters to raise funds for throughout the year.  This year we are pleased to announce that the 2015-2016 National Philanthropy is:

WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT

Wounded Warrior Project is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to honor and empower Wounded Warriors.

Wounded Warrior Project serves to raise awareness for the needs of severely injured service women and men.  It was founded in 2003; as of August 1, 2015 WWP has served 75,287 alumni and 12,557 family members.  The WWP encourages warriors as they adjust to their new normal and achieve new triumphs.  They offer a variety of programs and services to help equip the warriors.  To make their hospital stays more comfortable, backpacks are given to the warriors as they arrive at military trauma units across the United States.  The backpacks are filled with essential care and comfort items such as clothing, toiletries, and playing cards plus after seeing a great need, many packs are also given to the family members.

The Alumni program provides long-term support and friendship for Wounded Warriors through community events, complimentary programs and online networking support groups.  The Alumni can participate in sporting events, special "hunts" during hunting season, educational sessions, and personal and professional development summits.

No dues are ever paid - they paid their dues on the battlefield.

Last year, the seven DBS Chapters raised over $70,400.00 for Ronald McDonald House Charities. We are so proud of our members and look forward to another outstanding year!
